In most cities you can build up to a 1,200 square foot detached Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). This can be on your back yard, side yard, front of the home you can have several benefits.

**Important to note that per California law, no ciuty can prevent you from building a new ADU of 800 Square feet or less, as long as it complies with the proper setbacks. Although, some setbacks can be adjusted in order to allow you to build.
